Panasonic Viera Flat Screen TV

So one Sunday morning my boyfriend is reading his Sunday paper. Usually I am the one who has to look at the circulars. I have no idea why really, I think I just like the pictures. But this time, it wasn't me. As he is pulling out the circulars to hand to me, he sees it. There is a 52" Panasonic HD flat screen on sale for less than half the MSRP. Of course, being the way I am I had to prove that I could find it cheaper, so I jump on the internet and, gasp, I can't find it cheaper anywhere. I could see the wheels in his head turning, he wants this TV.

So we ponder the $800.00 investment. Is it worth it? We head down to 6th Ave Electronics to check it out. Of course, most of the sales people are men and ours is no exception. He brings us into a back room, relax this isn't going to get creepy, where we see it set up. I think my boyfriend almost cried out of pure joy. I proceed to ask questions on it's capabilities, to which all answers are directed to my boyfriend even though I'm the one who's speaking... almost as if he were my ventriloquist. What is that?? Anyway, after my questions were satisfactorily answered we decided to get the TV.

We had had a 36" tube TV before this. It was like not realizing we had needed glasses. The picture was amazingly sharp. It's not 1080p, because let's face it, that technology is still wayyy too new and thusly way more expensive. But I have to admit it's 1080i capabilities are more than sufficient.

We have it hooked up to a Sony Blue Ray player. Ok, once you've gone with this combination, watching TV any other way is just sad. We popped in Batman Returns and fast forwarded to the scenes where the landscape was the main focus. It was a snowy scene, and I would almost swear that the temperature in the apartment dropped. It was the most amazing picture I had ever seen. We pretty much only watch the HD channels now, unless the channel isn't available in HD. Even Jeopardy is impressive... it's like Alex is right there in the room with us.

I know that this model has been upgraded. But if you are not one of those people that has to have the newest thing because you have to be the first, it's definitely worth it to get last years model. The price is lower and honestly the technology hasn't changed all that much. I would highly reccomend this TV to anyone looking to get their first flat screen.
